Mom has a birthday today!
(She arrived in July – not May)
She still loves to read,
Has no pets to feed
With all she’s been through – she’s OK!
Bones have been broken and healed
Her lungs have been gunky – then cleared!
She swallows with care,
To make room for air
God’s hold on her is sealed
Naps in her lift chair are sweet
She loves to put up her feet
She dozes and prays
Enjoys the sun’s rays
Payday bars are a treat
Mom loves soothing green tea
With consistent workouts, it’s free!
She kicks her legs high,
Her arms lift to fly
Maybe she could climb a tree
Mom has mem’ries galore
97 years to explore
The laughter, the dreary
A full life with “Dearie”
Nothing was ever a bore
Happy birthday, dear Mama!
Today, I hope there’s no trauma
Just hugs and good wishes
And favorite dishes (like peanut-butter/pickle sandwiches)
A good, cozy nap, and no drama!
THE END
How sweet! Happy birthday to your Mama!! 🙂
Happy Birthday to your sweet Mother. Great job on the limerick!
